Are you doing NaNoWriMo this year?

I was wondering if anyone else is doing NaNoWriMo this year. If so, will you take a month off of myLot or try to keep up with both? Will you work on any other earning sites during November? I need a few writing buddies. I am doing fiction loosely based on true family events.

Yes, I am. I'm getting the story straightened out in my mind before I start on the first of November.

They took all our buddies away when they created the new website. We have to refriend now. What genre are you thinking of?

@akalinus I'm going to do a sequel to Thread of Evidence, so another mystery, I think. That's a shame they did. I'll need to refriend you again.

@just4him A lot of people complained about it. I don't blame them. NaNo claimed something about privacy laws or some such thing.

You do English very well. You could write in Hindi. You don't publish your work on the page. You copy and use it to verify your word count. I have never finished a novel. Maybe this will be my chance to cross it off of my list.

@Shivram59 They say 50k words but most novels are longer than that. I have never written a novel so I don't know how this will happen.

Drawing is good. I don't have any talent for it. Maybe you could write a post about your art.

I have a massive project I have been slacking on and am considering using NaNoWriMo as an excuse to focus and get a large chunk of it done. Getting 50,000 words into it would be a relief, but it doesn't fit into the rules so it wont count. I probably will check in here off and on.

You can write anything. The only rule is to do it all in November.

@things4gotten Yeah, as long as it is something new added, I don't see why you can't count it.

@akalinus True, but I am not working on anything new and if it is already written I do not think it counts even if I am expanding upon it as I go. If anything this is preparation for future NaNoWriMos and other writing endevours that might take a few years to complete. I am basically trying to collect, type up and organize writing, art, and notes of a world I have been building since I was 12 years old. I am just hoping to use the word count goals to try to put a dent in this.

It's not for everyone, just those who want to try. I have a lot of family history information and want to turn it into fiction based on true life events.
