When shopping (either online, offline, or both) what is one thing that annoys you?

As the title says, what is one thing that annoys you about shopping?
Or even when you are dining out, what is one thing that annoys you? What would you do to change it?
Hmm.. It annoys me when people that are not in handicapped spots leave their cart at the end of the parking lot. I guess this comes from my days working at a grocery store. Pushing those carts in are not easy.
Let's see...
It annoys me when I see something that should be in a cold case... Not in said cold case. Again, coming from working at a grocery store. I was a stock clerk and we would find meat in our aisles that should have been put in a nearby cold case if nothing else.
I am sure I can think of more. Oh! When you are trying to get by someone and they don't move. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but sometimes they just seem as if they don't care that they are in the way.
So what about you?

Oh yeah, i feel the same way. I mean, kids are going to scream but if I don't hear the parents atleast trying to calm the child down... It irritates me.

I guess what bothers me in a restaurant, when someone allows their child to act terrible. And in the grocery store, I hate it when people block an aisle, just stand there like they're the only customer.

@kobesbuddy Oh yes, I have definitely done that as well. Of course, I'll admit that my firm voice is also sometimes very snarky too.

Yes. I know kids will be kids but come on! Atleast try to correct your kids behavior. I just don't see that happening anymore.
I am passive - aggressive. If I have to move a person's cart? I will say something like "Some people could be more mindful of others!" and walk away.

@ScribbledAdNauseum And I'm passive-aggressive. I say, 'Excuse me!' in a firm voice and they don't like it!

Coffee cups! Yes, especially when they are half full.
This makes me think of trash duty when I was working for the grocery store. I make an effort NOT to throw away a cup that has any liquid in it. Just because an employee is getting paid, it doesn't mean that they should have to clean up after rude people.

I don't like the crowds and people who stand in the aisle with their shopping carts talking to each other taking up the whole aisle and they don't move even when you say excuse me.

Ah yes! Grocery stores aren't social hour. I can understand catching up but be mindful of your surroundings! I was walking in the store and trying to get by with my cart once. This woman was chatting on her phone, looking at the shelves and not caring that her cart was in the way. I moved the cart as I went by and said "Some people should be more considerate!"

@Happy2BeMe Yes! I don't begrudge people chatting on the phone or with each other in a store, but be mindful and move the cart!

Ah yes, when I am at the cash register I want to get out as quickly as possible. I remember that I once bought something from a catalog... I paid the company and it wasn't until after the items were delivered that they took the money out of my account. I didn't like that.

@amitkokiladitya Yes, those types things can cause overdrafts. It caused one for me. What happened is that they charged me, then reversed the charge, and then charged me again. I did not see that they had reversed the charge and so when my bill came out and I was overdrawn I was furious!
I never used that company again.

Yes, those that just won't move their cart are annoying. Those who talk so loudly too! I can understand if a person can't hear, but some of these people seem to talk loudly no matter what.

I hate everything about real life shopping - that's why I do my very best to avoid it! Crowds annoy me but I get more annoyed by people who seem to take up all the space even when there is plenty of it. I get annoyed with people hogging aisles, hovering over things, and generally getting in the way when there's no need. It also seems that the slower a person is, the less likely they are to walk in a straight line! I can't bear children screaming - I understand that children make noise but it's not normal for them to constantly squeal and scream. I'm sure there is a lot more!
As for online shopping, it annoys me when I can't find what I want. It's not so bad if it's something unusual but it's frustrating when I'm looking for a specific thing, put in details of it, and get suggestions of something completely different. Or I'll find something perfect, at a good price, and then it's suddenly double the cost after postage.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I don't mind concerts so much because you usually have an idea of how many people there will be, and you tend to have your own space (albeit a small one). There's no excuse for screaming children. My husband and I had a few visits to restaurants recently - I don't think there were any children in two of them. Another one, I was initially annoyed that we (an adult couple dining on our own) were shown to a table in an area where families were sitting. As it happened, the children were very well behaved, and my husband cooed over the baby! Often, I'll avoid 'family' places because children are not well supervised.
That would be a good idea for shipping costs - you can usually check whether goods can be shipped to your location but rarely find out the cost (or the delivery time) until after you've reached checkout.

@pumpkinjam Concerts for me? It's just the noise level. Unless it's a band or a performer that I like a lot of their songs, I am just not usually into it. I get bored and annoyed at the noise halfway through.
In most restaurants here they just sit us randomly. I think, for the most part, the hostess keeps up with which member of the waitstaff hasn't had a table in so many minutes and then places the customers there.

I avoid the mall because of the crowds. I can only take so much of crowds. You won't normally find me at concerts for the same reason. it seems to me that I find the screaming children with parents who think the best recourse is to ignore it. I especially loathe this in restaurants where the kids are usually sitting just the next table over. I don't know how the parents can just ignore it.
I do hate the hidden fee shipping cost as well. i wish sites would allow you to put in your zip code and calculate the cost of shipping before you browse! It would make it where I am not wasting my time.

Children in general (ha ha, no offense everyone), when people are loitering right where you need to be, when stores are out of stock in that ONE "make or break" item that you NEED, stores not being open early or late enough (Aldi is a prime example), and probably much more.
Online - paying for shipping, shipping times, Walmart.com.

I don't shop walmart.com very often because it's just annoying to navigate through sometimes.
Yes! I feel like I run into the parents of children who are the noisiest and yet the parents think the best thing to do is to ignore it! It makes me want to go up and just say "Shut Up!" to the kids. I actually saw a post about this on facebook not too long ago...
Yep, it's always something at the grocery store. Yesterday they were all out of my favorite flavor of yogurt. It wasn't a big deal but it was a bummer. Sometimes it's a particular cheese, or the brand of spaghetti sauce I like the most. They always seem to discontinue an item that I love as well.

When I worked retail there was a clearance bin and people would put something more expensive in the clearance bin right in front of me. Than they would bring it up to get it for the discount price. When you told them No they had the nerve to point to the clearance bin and say I got it from there. They got really mad when I said after you put it there.
What really made me mad was when children played in the toy section and tried to open the packages. The parents would get mad and say they are just looking.

Ah yes, you don't realize how many types of annoying customers there are until you've worked retail. Another thing that annoyed me is when something would go wrong with the register the customer would joke "Oh, so I get it for free then?" as if we hadn't heard that a million times before.

When there are too many options for what you want and you can't decide on what you want to get.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yeah. Like if I expect to pay a certain amount based on the price I saw online but then find out it is more expensive in the actual store, that's very upsetting.

Yes, I don't like that either. I also don't like when the item sits at the post office for two or three days before it gets delivered!
