Cut or Avoid

Salty Foods Fatty Foods Coffee Soda Etc. Yikes! I think almost everything is a no or I should avoid. This is the advice I repeatedly heard from my doctor every time I have an appointment with him and yet I’m always guilty to commit any of the violations. I know that I should watch out my food intake especially that I already have health issues nowadays. Although, it’s not that severe but prevention is always better than cure. I think I will be living my life like this from now on— for good.

You’re too young to have health issues.

Maybe this is the result of not being careful and being lazy. Not careful on my food and at the same time lazy to be more active.

I do not eat fatty foods, I limit salty food intake and I do not drink soda, but I enjoy my two cups of coffee every day.

@hereandthere Maybe I can ask that. I'm in my one week of not having a single cup of coffee and it's something that I am missing especially when people at home have their individual cups in morning or night.

I have hyper-acidity and I have often complaint that there maybe something wrong with my stomach. I have been advised by my doctor that I should refrain from drinking coffee while I am taking my medication for two months.

You are right. There were just times that I can't help but to eat or drink on some occasions to satisfy my cravings.

@ZedSmart I cannot quit so I simply started intake of healthy stuff for e.g. Turmeric tea, okra for glutathione, yellow fin tuna for omega 3, malunggay. Let them do the battle. Oh and I switched to Canola oil.

Yes, although we may encounter difficulty in our part, it's for our own sake. In the end, we always are responsible for our actions.

You are what you eat. This reminds me of a story I heard about a lady from Hawaii. She had diabetes, high blood pressure, and all kinds of health problems. She thought to herself: None of her ancestors had these problems. She investigated what her ancestors ate in the early days before Hawaii got big. She changed her diet and ate only those same foods. All her medical problems went away. It's the processed by mankind foods that are getting everyone health problems. Yes, man can make those foods taste really good. On the other hand, one can work at eating the natural foods instead. Example of man's handy work. Beef. Today beef is full of the bad fats that cause health problems. Did you know that if you feed cows nothing but grass that the fat in the beef becomes the healthy fat. In short, a cow is supposed to eat grass not the grain cows today are feed. They are fed grain because it fattens them up quicker and it all sells price per pound. Process foods and restaurant foods are made to taste great. They want you back to buy more. They add lots of salt, sugar, fats, flavorings and such. It's not a healthy combination. If one stops eating unhealthy food for a few months, one might find they do not crave them near as much. I know it's not easy, however it can be done.

Lifestyle really plays and important role on this and I think that there's still time to change this before it's too late.

This is really odd because we only give up those habits until we feel the effects.
