I enjoy narratives that border on the strange. I just responded to a post about X Files reruns, which I really enjoy watching all these years later. There are some new shows this season that I'm really enjoying. "Evil", (CBS), is a show that juxtaposes science with spirituality, combining a psychologist, a Catholic Priest, and a plumber technology expert who investigate possible demonic possessions and other strange phenomena. The character chemistry is good, and there is an evolving paranormal subplot that makes it very interesting. "Prodigal Son", (FOX), Is a fascinating story about a criminal profiler who's father is a notorious serial killer. These factors affect his mother, his sister, and his career in unexplored ways that are slowly revealing themselves as the narrative moves forward. "Emergence", (ABC), About a small town police chief in NY state, who rescues a precious girl with amnesia after a plane crashes on the beach near her home. It's "soft sci fi" plot lines are extraordinary as she tries to protect the girl, who seems to have unique abilities, from a secret corporate entity with vast and dangerous reach. One of the things I really like about "Emergence" aside from the narrative, is it's casting. Believe it or not, the female police chief isn't some sort of supermodel tough girl. She a pretty ordinary type female, with decent character, whom you believe and like right away. She's played effectively by Allison Tolman. Other characters stand out too, and make the show more believable. Check it out on Tuesday nights at 9, or on Hulu.

I have checked them all out all are fairly decent. I think prodigal son has the best story line. They all have their good points and things I do not prefer, but overall not a bad three shows to watch, pretty entertaining.

We enjoy that show. I remember her from a Fargo TV show in which she played a state trooper or policewoman.

Oh thank you. I couldn't remember where I had seen her before. She was great in that as well.
