Christmas Vs Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day is November 11th, my social media is swamped with post of how folks are disrespecting veterans if they decorate for Christmas before Remembrance Day has passed. I read a post from a veteran himself, he said he could not speak for other veterans but he was not offended by people who wanted to celebrate Christmas early. If they wanted to hang decorations, then hang decorations, he said that's what he fought for. He fought so people could be free to celebrate whenever they wanted. If someone decides to put up a Christmas tree in July, it is their right to do so. Last Christmas my husband purchased the light in the picture. I like it, it's pretty. Not sure if is Christmasy or if it's just a pretty light. The light has been turned on and off a thousand times since last Christmas. Am I disrespecting Veterans by having it on? I don't know if I would turn it off or not but that decision is left up to me to make.....right? https://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembrance/information-for/educators/quick-facts/remembrance-day

I don't think that it is disrespectful at all. I don't put my Christmas stuff up before Remembrance Day because for me it is too early but it is up to each individual when they choose to do it.

My decorating doesn't usually happy until December, and like you it is a personal choice. However, this light remains year round. :)

@RachelleDD I think it is beautiful. If I had something like that unwound keep it lit too.

I don't think it is disrespectful at all. Some people make such a fuss about some things.
