How does one build faith?
Just like building muscles, it takes time, effort, work and patience.
What is faith?
Faith is confidence, trust, belief and conviction.
How does one build faith?
1) Faith comes from hearing and reading the word of God. (Romans 10:17)
2) Discussing things having to do with faith can build our faith. (Hebrews 11:1-40)
3) We can pray for more faith. (Mark 9:24)
4) Mediating on the intricacies and beauty of nature can build faith. ( Romans 1:20)
5) Studying the prophecies found in the Bible can strengthen our faith. What does the Bible say about Babylon? (Jeremiah 51:37; Isaiah 13:19-20) Where is Babylon now?
Faith can be as strong as we want it to be!

Yes, that can happen. What should really bring us close to God is love, appreciation and thankfulness.
What would you think of someone that only came to you when they had problems?

@Nevena83 You have understood the point!
Here is an illustration: A person wants to build a house. He can build the house out of straw or out of stone. Which house will do better in a storm?
Faith, if it is to be strong and if it is to endure and last for a long time needs to build out of the best materials or ingredients. Life is often one storm after another. If our faith is weak then it will not last long.
Hebrews 10:35-39 (New International Version)
35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For,
“In just a little while,
he who is coming will come
and will not delay.”
38 And,
“But my righteous one will live by faith.
And I take no pleasure
in the one who shrinks back.
39 But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

@1hopefulman I know, you asked me that once. Well, I would think that someone is selfish.

I love to tell about Bible prophecies that have been fulfilled - about Babylon, the one who concuered it - even his name, Cyrus, is mentioned in Isaiah's book 150 years before he was born - also his strategy - and the way his army could get into Babylon - see more in jw.org and yes - according to the prophecy that says that Babylon would never be built again..

Yes, information can be useful and it's god to know what others are doing and what they have learned.

@1hopefulman I don't really think my faith is strong. There seems so much that is wrong with the world that it is difficult to keep faith alive.

@JudyEv Yes, it is so true that there is a lot that is wrong with the world and that it is difficult to keep our faith alive. So, we must work even harder to succeed. "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." I really appreciate the thoughts expressed in the following passage.
Hebrews 10:35-39 (New International Version) 35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.” 38 And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. Poetry: Faith
Faith is the energy of God in you being you.
After all, faith lives in you, living in God.
"I am who I am, says God", and so are you.
The love in you does not require faith to live,
Holding onto faith, though, builds on this love.

We all have some faith, just ones in God, others in something else.
