A Good Book

Lately, I've found it difficult to find a book that I can really get into. I find myself reading (or listening to) the first few chapters and then putting it aside. It's just not for me. But I've stumbled upon a book I just can't get enough of and I'm thrilled! This book is called, "The Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt. I originally heard about it because a movie has been released and it's based on this book. The book was originally published in 2013. It tells the story of a teenage boy who loses his mother in a terrorist bombing in an art museum. From there, we get to see what happens to him and where he goes and how he forms his life. Due to the circumstances, the story begins with a lot of sadness and depression and I, personally, found this book to have wonderful ideas for coping with both. Even at the saddest parts of the book, I've found it uplifting. And it's consumed me so much! I borrowed the audio book from the library and have been listening to it on my phone. There was a day that I listened to it off and on from late afternoon until I went to bed! That's never happened before. Needless to say, I highly recommend the book. I don't know much about the movie but I'll probably watch it at some point just to see what their version of the characters look like and how they sound, since I have them all in my head already.
