I have a box of recipes that have mostly been tried and true either by my own mom, family, friends or myself. Mostly all of them I've tried and liked or loved but a few I haven't. It's almost like a step back in time that goes back to my earlier married days and now when I see them I'd like to try some of the old ones again. However, It can really make you a little looney- all these recipes. I'm afraid of collecting too many more or I may really go crazy thinking about trying them all!! I also have a box of recipes that I've collected for things I know I would like but have yet to try. And ones I've bookmarked from the Internet! Wow! I mean- so many recipes so little time--lol! I could also forget all about them and not look through them at all- that would help. ha! ha! Collecting is fun but doing or thinking about doing can throw you for a loop!

I have lots of recipes also, but do not enjoy cooking that much, just do it because I have to.

I enjoyed it more when I was younger for sure but as you say you have to---can't afford to go out too much at these prices!

I have all these recipe books but rarely open them. I should just admit I like looking at the pictures.

@MarymargII However, if anyone saw a photo of stodge they probably wouldn't be bothered making it. But you and I would know what they're missing out on, wouldn't we?

@JudyEv Oh yes and you can show it with a spoon standing straight up so they'll get that it's a stick to your ribs and possibly all your organs-kind-of-dish! lol!

@LadyDuck Me too- I think I will in the New Year and throw out any that are too difficult or I'm not sure I'd like!

This is why Pinterest was created and now we all have boards filled with DIYs and recipes that we will never get to try, but at least it is better to digital hoard them than keeping books and boxes.
