It’s still almost half November and maybe for most of us, it’s early yet to talk about Christmas celebration. But I think I’m now starting to feel the spirit of Christmas upon watching the Christmas station ID released by one of the major broadcasting network here. Christmas ID is a video accompanied by a song featuring the network’s people and artists highlighting and delivering meaningful Christmas messages, real life stories and social responsibility. For the past years, the two giant network here released their Christmas ID almost simultaneously or within the same day but this year, the other network would release theirs next week. The theme of the first network to release is “Love Shines” while the other network theme is “Family is FOREVER” emphasizing the word LOVE in the letter "O" of the word forever as shown in their teaser.
Here is the link of the video available in youtube.

Truth is, when Christmas approaches, I feel sad as I watch people rush to decorate plastic trees and purchase flimsy presents and hold Christmas parties on the first week of December. It is as if the whole meaning of Christmas has been lost in the mad festivities commercials have created.
However, there are the genuine givers who believe in the spirit of sharing. I don't like the scripted videos, and the celebrities all dressed and made up, juxtaposed with the unfortunate people receiving the gifts. All too shallow for me. I feel the deprived are further being used for self-serving purposes. Hu hu

@ZedSmart Mike Enriquez and Howie Severino and Maki Pulido are some of the best media people I admire. They are true, genuine, frank, fearless, and kind. Aside from being intelligent, of course. Albeit, I suppose that they have to comply with company festivities. GMA's Kapuso Foundation is commendable. It has gone to the most isolated of communities and given hope. Next year, I'd like to see the celebrities in those far-flung places, spending time with the deprived, eating with them, spending play and learning with the community, and sharing Christmas without the fashion clothes and make-up.

@eileenleyva I agree. Your suggestion is excellent so that those celebrities could actually feel the lives of these people without being dressed in fancy but like a true people living under such condition.

You have a point there Ms. Eileen. Too much of commercialism. I can't say more about the organization's purpose on making this kind of video but of course I respect your view. You are right, there are unsung pure-hearted individuals out there giving their best to share they could and I believe that they already received their merit by the kind of blessings they have; maybe not something that has monetary equivalent but bigger and meaningful than that.

I love Christmas Station IDs. I always wait for them every year. I also like the Summer time station IDs. I like the good vibes they give
