Time to dig back into the vaults for an upbeat rock and roll song by the Everly Brothers. The Everly Brothers, Don (born 2/1/37) and Phil (1/19/39-2/3/14) were an American country-influenced rock and roll duo. They first appeared on radio singing with their mother and father as "The Everly Family" in the 1940s. While the brothers were in high school, they were discovered by Chet Atkins; and he groomed them for national attention.
The brothers began writing and recording their own music in 1956. Their first hit song, "Bye Bye Love" was written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant and hit #1. Additional hits: "Wake Up Little Susie" (see below), "All I Have to Do is Dream" and "Problems". In 1960 they signed with Warner Brothers Records and wrote and recorded "Cathy's Clown", their biggest selling single.
They enlisted in the U S Marine Corps Reserve in 1961. Disputes with their management and the rising drug culture, lessened their popularity in the United States. They continued to record and release hit singles in the UK and Canada. They were active from 1951-1973 and 1983-2005.
