November 13th - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today has been a good day. A definite day to give God thanks for the blessings all around me.
First, I had a great morning in the pool. We were four for at least half an hour and then the pool filled up.
Second, Snow. Yes, we're getting snow and lots of it. It won't melt soon, at least I hope not, though temps are going up a little into the 30s tomorrow. It looked picture card perfect as I watched it come down this morning. Looks like there's a lull in the storm, but we're not done for the day with what I saw on the weather report. I thought about going to the store. However, they warned the roads are slick, so I'm staying in.
Third, I talked to the office about my water heater when I took out the garbage. Maintenance came by and looked at it and determined, as old as it is, it's not the water heater, it's my shower. He says the water is hot and can't hold his hand under it. I told him he was a wuss as I held my hand under there without a problem. He told me I was unfeeling. I love bantering with the staff. They're so great. I will say, though the water is no hotter than it was, it's a stronger stream.
Fourth, Disney +. When I got back from the office, my son called and I am now set up with Disney +. He told me it has every movie Disney ever made. Totally AWESOME. This is my Christmas present. He also told me that starting next year, I only need to give him a dollar a month for it. No problem! He told me what it costs per month, and a dollar a month is well worth it. He's adding his sister too to his account.
Fifth, Notifications. I have the 7th and 8th taken care of now so I can focus on my writing the rest of the day today and tomorrow morning before I leave for the funeral.
Okay, that's it for what I'm thankful for currently. I'm going to get started on my book and hope to get at least 3000 words today and tomorrow. That will help me with my 80K goal.
What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I am thankful that it has warmed up into the 20s here today. At least it is no longer that bitter cold.

@cpefley Yes cold is decided by what you are used to. But at least you dont get frozen water buckets at 56

Wow! I forgot how cold it was there. I didn't mind it when I lived in Ann Arbor, but I'm too used to the California sun. It was 82 today and the low is 56 I think...yes, we really think that is cold lol. I miss the snow...so pretty!

Nice to read all the things for which you are thankful. The weather is freezing here and I'm glad there was no emergency where I had to go out. That's interesting about the Disney channel. I might take a look at how much it will cost here as they have many great family movies.

@awesome19788 When you look for things to be thankful for, everything else in your life becomes mute. I don't look for the bad or focus on it.

@JohnRoberts Yes, it's a good combination. Today the snow is melting. Though I still have my banana in hand and Disney to watch. Book first.

Happy you are feeling grateful - we can be grateful for many things - I am happy that my health has been improving the latest couple of years - keep praying for wisdom that it continues and that I could help others too, also spiritually..

@mom210 Yes, November is a great month to be thankful. So, is every month, but we tend to focus it on November. Yes, they are. It's National Novel Writer's Month and I always take part in the 50K challenge to write a new book. It's coming along well. My goal is 80K and I'm on track for it.

Sounds like some thoughtful reflection on your day.
This quote expresses my feelings about being thankful.
'Thank you' is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.

I envy you with the snow. It is still in the 80s here, and it "might" rain late next week? I can't complain though. At least I don't have to shovel snow. I do love the snow though. I miss Michigan.
Disney+ is amazing!! I love it. We have been watching it since it came out Tuesday morning. My girls are watching all the movies that I watched growing up. Sleeping Beauty is my favorite of all time! I wonder how long it will take for movies to be released on Disney+ after they come out? I watched the new Lady and The Tramp movie on there. So good!!

I saw the new ones are on there. I'm looking forward to watching a lot of them too. Now, I can save my money. I don't need to buy them as they are all on there.
I used to live in San Diego. I missed the snow. I'm glad I'm back here.
