Nothing better than comfortable shoes

For most of my life, like most people I think, I never paid attention to my feet. I mostly wore whatever was in fashion, no matter how difficult it was to walk! The higher the heels, the better, I thought. I still remember the last time I wore high heels. We had attended the wedding of two dear friends of ours. I had so much fun getting all dressed up and dancing the night away. I felt no pain that night. The next day, however, I could barely walk. I was in SO much pain. These days, my knee problems have forced me to seek out comfort first. I've discovered Skechers and I love them. I have walking shoes and boots and I just purchased a pair of slippers. I've spent too much time wearing crocs around the apartment and I want something with more structure, but still comfortable. My mother would be laughing at me today. She used to warn me about my shoes and, of course, I never listened! Now, when my feet sink into a very comfortable pair of shoes/boots/slippers....I can't help but smile and relax. My feet are on permanent vacation. Peace Claudia

With the weather usually being warm and mild in Florida all I wear are different colored Crocs. I have not worn heels in ages and if I did now I would probably fall right on my face,

It's better for your body that you didn't! I'm sure a lot of my problems today were because of those high heels!

I wore high heels every time that I go out, when the shoes are good quality and the size correct for my feet I am very comfortable wearing heels.

@CRK109 I can still walk several miles in my high heels. Once you have the habit it's just the same as wearing normal shoes, the important is the quality of the shoes.

@CRK109 I have yet to find a pair I'm completely happy with. I usually am barefoot or stocking foot. I only wear shoes when I leave the apartment.

I know they are not the least expensive shoes out there and even I have to save up when I buy them. I do understand.

I used to love wearing platforms and heels to add height to my body as a teen. I broke two toes as a kid and they bother me now so they must have heeled wrong. I just had surgery on my hammer toe about two months ago and so my pinky toe sticks out different then it used to. I have to wear a shoe now that is less narrow in the toes.

oh how terrible for you!!! Foot problems are no joke! I have wide feet so it's not always easy finding shoes that are comfortable. I got very lucky with these.

I'm someone you'd rarely see in high heels but you'd often see me in flat shoes or running shoes. My family prefers Ultra boost from Adidas or Yeezy

Flat shoes meant nothing to me growing up and now I can't think of anything but them! Funny how life has changed me!

@CRK109 Yes we do change as we grow older. But my shoe preference hasn't changed at all. It's my food preference that has.

i was never into sneakers, but now that i'm much older and heavier, i notice how helpful they are, especially if they have arch support. if they don't have, i buy inserts.

I love Skechers! I still love high heels, but developed an inflamed nerve on the bottom of my foot, so I don't wear heels as often. I had to get an injection in my foot which really hurt. I sure understand wanting to be comfortable.

@CRK109 I just bought a pair of comfy Skechers and I'm waiting to realize they hurt after I've worn them a while. What a blessing it will be if they don't! My last pair that I bought 12 years ago are still comfortable, but I've literally worn them out.

oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for what you had to go through! Nerve problems are SO painful, I've found. You must be in heaven when your feet are comfortable now

I never considered fashion. I considered cheap. The shoes I wear for work was a pair I got at Kmart (one that was going out of business) for $12, They are fine. I may have hammertoe, a bad back, callouses, blisters, and whatever else. But I saved money.
