Have you ever been affected by the death of a celebrity??

I was talking to a friend the other night about this topic. Me personally, I was really sad when Robin Williams died. I even cried. The only celebrity death that has made me cry. I grew fond of him from an early age with his movies and he seemed like such a genuine sweet guy. It just didnt seem fair to me that he lived with so much sadness in his heart. My best friend was upset when Chester Bennington (lead singer of Lincoln Park) died. She had lots of memories of listening to him in highschool. So I was curious, if any fellow MyLotters have been affected by the death of a celebrity.

No, never, celebrities are not so important persons to me to feel affected. And I do not follow any of them.

Absolutely. The first day in my life I can remember was the day they found the wreckage of Jim Reeves' plane. I was four, and I cried so much and so hard it made me sick. I was quite upset over the murder of Stringbean, the Hee Haw banjo player/comedian. Similarly, although I never cared that much for his music, I was saddened by the murder of John Lennon. I hate seeing music people I grew up listening to pass away, and some at relatively young ages (such as the Eagles' Glenn Frey, who was only 67). Plus, I got to meet him once.

The fact that celebrities who we look up to and think have reached pinnacle of success would want to cut their lives short makes us reevaluate our lives and values. That is what happens to me. When I am feeling weak and beaten by life, I would roll behind the blankets, hug the pillows like someone who is staying strong until the storm has passed. The next day is a bright, sunny day.
