Shopping Day | November 15th

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well! Today (Friday the 15th) was a busy day here as it was shopping day. Once a month (as long as weather permits) we go out of town for a big shopping trip. There is a bigger town 45 miles or so away that has a lot more stores than anywhere near her. The towns closest to us only have a Wal-mart or a small grocery store. Anyways.... We started off by going to Winco - which is a grocery store with a big bulk section. If you wonder why it is called Winco - it is because of the states the store is in (in the states). There I got a lot of stuff I will need when going back on Low Carb soon. I did get some snacks that aren't low carb too - since my husband and son don't do low carb (and for me to enjoy a little before going back on my diet). Then, we went to Target. That store is pretty expensive, so for the most part we just look around. I did get some of the new Quest bars (a caramel flavor). After that we went to lunch; iHop. The meal was pretty tasty! I got the new holiday pancakes, hashbrowns, eggs and meat. We went to a restaurant supply store because we were told they had 10 pounds of halibut for $30 something...but my grandfather told us wrong - it was 3 pounds for $30 something which makes more sense. I did get a Torani syrup that I was wanting. Then we ended the trip with Wal-mart. Yes, we have 3 Wal-marts we could have gone to closer....but this is a bigger Wal-mart which usually has a much bigger selection of items. I got more low carb foods, and such. Also got stuff to make something for my son's birthday dessert. I can't believe he turns 6 on Tuesday! At least with all of those stores, I do get a lot of walking in for the day! Ending the day with over 8,000 steps - usually I get somewhere in the 3,000 range. Sharing a photo from the day -- my son being happy shopping. He got to go on the trip this month since the schools had the day off.

I can't believe that Eli is already gonna be 6 years old, **'HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELI!'** We buy groceries in another city, about twice a month. It's cheaper!

@MommyOfEli2013 All the building centers are in Saginaw, so that's where Jay gets building supplies.

Yes! He is about to turn 6 years old....he can't be that age already! Thank you :) Glad that you make that trip twice a month and it's cheaper. Not sure it is cheaper here, but with the stores that far away we can't go more often really

You got a lot of shopping done. It's good you're planning your low carb diet. Nice picture of your son. Happy Birthday to him on Tuesday.

@just4him Carbs are my problem though - I can have 3,000 plus sodium with no problem when I limit the carbs....but since I have been on a carb binge the sodium is catching up to me.

Yes, we did for sure. Stocked up for another month. Yes, I really need to get back on because I am up in water weight; the sodium is getting to me with eating so many carbs. Thank you, and he will be happy to hear that :)

Well, we do have a few big stores in our city. Some are at 5 Km, and some a little further. Even we go there once a month on an average, and sometimes more than that. Yes, your son looks quite happy, as such outings are liked by kids.

I used to do once a month, Bruno am just 20 minutes from a bigger town so I can do it more.

That would be easier to do it more often if you have places just 20 minutes away. The next town over is bigger, but still mostly just a Wal-mart.

Today is also my grocery shopping schedule but we might need to push it to tomorrow because I'm not feeling really well. It's nice to see your little one enjoy the shopping times :)

I don't like to do too much shopping on Fridays. I only shop that day if I forgot something needed during the week. Usually I don't like to do too much shopping on the weekends, either, because how busy it can be especially now during the holiday time. But I went out Saturday to do some winter clothes shopping for my daughter and now's the time when you can get some good sales. Also, my sister was visiting us and she wanted to go out to shop in my area. I totally understand going outta the way for some stores. I have about 3 plus Walmarts in my area as well, and I shop at different ones depending on what I need or where I am during my travels during the week for work or whatever. Not all Walmarts carry the same thing. Different franchises carry different things. Most kids don't like to do too much shopping with their parents. My daughter only likes it if we're getting something for her. Nice to see your son having a good time shopping with you.
