Swagbucks Has Changed

I have noticed many new and recent discussions about Swagbucks and I have responded.
I have been with Swagbuck about 10 years, since it was a relatively new and young site. I have seen it go through many changes, some good and some bad, but it eventually became one of the best sites of its kind.
I spent a lot of time on Swagbucks, sometimes hours. and I got rewarded. I had fun and I was making about $100 a month on the site.
About a year or two ago, Swagbucks slowly began to change. It became harder to earn (took more time) and swagbucks awarded were less.
There were complaints from veteran Swagbuckers on the facebook page but to no avail. The problems continued.
Well in February, there were massive changes. I refer to the changes as collapsing.
Even as the site changed, I still was able to make about $50 to $75 a month but now I am only able to earn one gift card about every three months because I am still waiting to get to 2500 Swagbucks to cash out.
However, I went to the redeem rewards page and I see that you can now redeem Swagbucks for 1, 3 and 5 dollar rewards including to PayPal.
So Swagbucks is now allowing small rewards.
What I realize now is that Swagbucks has changed. It has become more like ordinary sites out there and it is ok now that I understand.
I will probably start redeeming for $3 to PayPal or for an Amazon gift card rather than wait for the $25 gift card either to Amazon or PayPal.
If you have only discovered Swagbucks in the last year or so, you will not understand the changes but for those of us who have been on Swagbucks for years, you will understand.

Last time I checked the minimum for PayPal cash redemption was $25. Would be awesome if they offered lower amounts like you say in your discussion. Just checked and wow! They offer $5 and $10 ones. Didn't know that. I have enough to redeem for a $5 one but I think I will hold off till I get at least $10.

@bostonphil Do we have to pay PayPal fees if we cash out for that one?

I know that they have been in India a long time but there were often complaints in the past. it might work better in India now. Swagbucks is now available all over the world, from what i can tell.

I have noticed changes as well--it used to be a lot easier to earn on there--makes me sad!

I may be getting used to the new swagbucks. I cashed out $5 to PayPal and I got it fast. It is still a legit site and it is still a good site but not like one of the best that it was two or so years ago.
I got two good search wins today. Maybe because it is Thanksgiving.

thanks for responding. I stay with Swagbucks and accept the changes but keep hoping it will become more like the old swagbucks.
