How much should you eat?

The owner of my gym posted this link on our FB page last week but I didn't bother with it because I thought it was something I'd have to pay to use. Tonight at the gym he asked how many people had checked it out and the answer was ZERO. He said it was a great resource and that we should check it out. I just did. It is great. You enter your age, height, current weight, goal weight, goal date, activity level, lifestyle, and preferred eating style. Then it calculates how many calories you need each day to maintain your current weight and how many you should eat to reach your goal. It also breaks those calories down into how many grams of protein, vegetables, carbs, fat, etc. you should have each day and at each meal. It is really VERY thorough. I thought that it might be helpful for some other members here. @just4him came to mind. I'm glad that I used this free tool. It showed me that I am not eating nearly enough protein.
Use this calorie, portion, and macro calculator to get a FREE 18-page nutrition plan that’s customized exactly for YOUR body, goals, and preferences.

@NJChicaa I did look at it. I found it quite interesting. I didn't go to the point of providing my e-mail but might. I also found it quite valid in that I put that I wanted to lose twenty pounds in less than two months and it said that was not healthy.

That kind of diet is very restrictive for me. That's almost the same as what my brother-in-law was having.

@NJChicaa yes, I know that it can be customized. What i mean is I cannot eat anything outside of the menu.

I'll take a look at this but I think right now I am probably way behind my calories because my appetite in this cold spell has gone down and today I only ate once.

Thank you. I did the assessment and printed up the results. It looks good and looks like I'm on track with it. It's calling for 2,204 calories per day with a 30% range for Protein, Carbs, and Fats. That seems like a lot, especially for the calories which I'm trying to keep around 1200 and no higher than 1600.

I always worry about getting enough protein too. That's a handy tool.
