Twiddle blanket

I’ve been working on my twiddle blanket for my husband’s grandmother. If you remember back a few months ago I posted about her having gotten sick which then caused blood swelling in her head which caused her to have memory lose and she still doesn’t remember everyone or recalls things. She is still learning how to do a lot of things and people are very hopeful for her.
So I’m making a twiddle blanket to help her when she gets worked up or need to do something. Yesterday I got the charms I’ve been waiting for to come into the mail. I started to put them on the blanket. I got al the letters on I wanted.

I was going to ask what a twiddle blanket was, but I scrolled down and read through the comments and saw where you explained it. Pretty cool concept. I hope she likes her twiddle blanket when she receives it.

Sorry, I do not remember about his grandmother being sick. Does not sound very good. So since this post is from November. Did you finish the blanket for her and what did she think of it?

I haven’t finished it yet knitting is hard when you have kids a little time. So I’m still working on it.

What is a twiddle blanket? Is it one that has charms attached?

A twiddle blanket is a fidget blanket. I’m using charms as the fidget items. You can put on whatever you want to make a twiddle blanket. Some people do buttons, beads, zippers anything that can be knitted in places.

Twiddle means a fidget in knitting when things are created they get a special name by the knitters choice so this blanket by its original designer named it twiddle instead of fidget it’s made for people with special needs or people with brain tramas
