The Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) was a British rock and roll band formed in 1970 with Jeff Lynne, Ray Wood and drummer Bev Bevan. Their music was a fusion of Beatlesque pop, classical and futuristic. Wood left in 1972 and the band was pretty consistent with Lynne, Bevan and keyboardist Tandy. Lynne became the leader of the band, arranging and producing every album, while writing virtually every bit of their original material. In the 1970s and 1980s they released a string of top 10 albums and singles. In 1986 Lynne lost interest in the group and disbanded it. Drummer Bevan then formed his own band, ELO Part II, which later became the Orchestra. After a brief reunion in 2000-2001 ELO remained inactive until 2014 when Lynne reformed the band with Tandy as Jeff Lynne's ELO. Photo Credit: Wikimedia Commons

They had some memorable songs with their progressive and later radio friendly style. I remember when their version of Roll Over Beethoven came out that was really unique.
