Co-worker

I have a co-worker at my job who every time someone makes a mistake he emails out all the rest of the department and tells about the mistake...I don't know if this would bother me as much but he also does not did the mistakes he finds and he makes plenty of his own...I have thought of following suit the next time I have to correct one of his errors but that seems to petty. How do you deal with coworkers quirks?
