Day 112
Promise 156, 157
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Are you happy with your life? Is your life difficult or easy?
Throughout Scripture God told His people He would bless them for their obedience and punish them for their sins.
David showed there were two kinds of people. Those whom God blessed because they meditated on His Word and were doers of the Word. And those who rejected God and His Word and did their own thing.
As Christians, you know the difference between good and evil. You know evil comes from Satan who causes man to deny God and Jesus, His Son, and the salvation He provided. You know when you obeyed God and accepted Jesus as Your Savior, your life changed. God showed you what He required as you read His Word.
Is God’s law void because Jesus fulfilled the law?
Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the meanwhile accusing or else excusing one another;)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Paul said God would judge Christians by the law. David said you are to meditate on it day and night. Does that mean you are to read the Bible every moment of the day and night? No. You read God’s Word in the morning, and as you go through your day, you meditate, think about what you read. As you think about what God said in His Word, God will direct you in your daily lives so you do the Word, not only read it.
James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and straightway forgets what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
God will bless you. You will be like trees planted by rivers of water whose leaf does not wither and everything you do, prospers.
However, those who reject God are like chaff which the wind drives away. Chaff is the bad part of the wheat the harvester separates from the good so your food tastes as it should. God gets rid of those who reject His Son and His law and casts them into hell.
It isn’t God who sends those who reject Him to hell, but those who reject Him, choose death over life. Your choice determines your eternal destination.
God will bless those who choose obedience to His Word, meditate on it day and night, and do what His Word directs. He will send those from Him who reject Him. There is no middle ground. No place where man’s soul goes so they can get it right and then move on to heaven. That isn’t scriptural. You have two choices, believe or reject. One brings life and blessing. The other brings death and eternal separation from God.
What is your choice?
Let’s pray: Father, Your Word is truth and life. You gave man two choices, life or death. I choose life and Your Word. Help me live my life according to Your Word, meditating on it day and night. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

@just4him yes, Valerie. Sometimes it’s hard too, but can still be manageable. Have a great day too, Valerie.
