There are several posts on thanksgiving so am posting one also
Am nobody to suggest or advice but I feel on thanksgiving u should try to help the needy. Don't waste food and if u have extra donate money and food to old age homes and to everyone who needs it and can donate to vets also.

@DianneN
I see many of my colleagues from US and some in European nations posting about volunteering efforts for charity.
In India too people do such things and it is growing.

Amen it pisses me off how people treat the less fortunate as like they want to be that way. Try harder and all that. How about you try harder.

@Butterfingers Your suggestion and advice is just as important as anyone else! And I LOVE your suggestion. I completely agree with you. Not that I celebrate Thanksgiving but helping others in need any time is always a great thing to do.

That's a nice thought and I think that such good spirit should continue throughout the year irrespective of festivals. I always do that.

Yes, and why only on Thanksgiving?
We can donate to NGOs. Some are not so genuine, but ones like CRY, HelpAge India, WaterAid India etc are well managed.
One can also volunteer for social causes, and get involved at Old Age Homes, Orphanage etc.
Now, many companies also offer Teaching for under privileged as part of CRS- Corporate Social Responsibility.
If one is involved in such activities at Corporate level in under 30 age group, one can also get some good credits when applying for higher studies like MBA etc.
