blanket is slightly different from comforter. I think comforters are fine when we have room heating.
But blankets are warmer, and quilts are even warmer than blankets.
Comforters are fine when winters just start. People do buy them in India, but for sleeping in AC during summers.

We use blankets for most part of year... Thick or thin depends on the day. It's chill all of a sudden.

I have a cable knit blanket that I use when it gets really cold. It is one of the blankets that i layer on top of other blankets. It belonged to my great grandmother.

@amitkokiladitya It is old, but I don't think it's too old. I feel like this was probably bought back in the 50's. I had tried to find one like it but the company does not exist any longer. My great grandmother was born in 1911 I think? or 1916.
