But why???

I almost had a great photo, but he caught me looking and he walked away.
My cat. He went to his wet food bowl to eat. However, he doesn't eat like a "normal" cat. He puts his paw in, grabs some food, scoops it out of the bowl and eats it off his paw or off the floor! I don't understand why he chooses to eat that way! He makes a real mess for me, but it seems to make him happy.
He sometimes drinks water that way, too! Even at the sink with the running water, he will scoop some on his paw and lick it off.
One of these days I'll get a photo! lol
Peace
Claudia

I guess your cat has his own unique way of eating and drinking his food.

My friend has a cat that puts her paw in the water dish while she's drinking. She doesn't lick the water off her paw, she just puts it in the dish. Her "brother" (not same litter) puts his paw on the side of the water dish.
It's cute but very silly. I guess some cats eat that way because it's similar to what their bigger cousins do.

lol Cats do have their own ways of doing things. but my little dog Brie takes a mouthful of dry food, brings it into the family room and drops it on the rig and eats one piece at a time. I have no idea why but it is the way she eats.

My one cat Buttercup does the same thing with water which is really strange.

quirky lil fella, eh? the critters here dislike the camera, too. i used to've a big grey persian. too lazy to stand'n eat/drink 't seems. 'lways'd jest flop down 'twixt the food 'n water bowls. he'd scoop out his food, too. eat a few bites 'n then lean o'er to get a drink. he 'twas quite the character :)
