I lost my phone

December 1, 2019 11:14pm CST
It's just sad how many people can't be honest and helpful sometimes. I mean, me, personally, never thought of keeping what I find that I know belongs to someone else. It hurts when the saying "Don't do unto others what you don't want to do unto you" does not apply anymore. Waaah! It was supposed to be a happy day yesterday when me and my husband went out to the beach. We just got there and when I decided to take pictures using my phone, I realized it was not there anymore. I must've left it on the cab and we called for the cab operator immediately. Sadly, he was not the one driving that cab at the moment and I cannot contact my phone anymore. We tried tracking it but to no avail. We tried calling the operator again who promised to give us a call back but no luck as well. I personally don't want losing gadgets or them breaking because they are expensive and I don't have the money to keep buying new one. Besides, the memories in that device were priceless and very valued. The pictures, the videos, the memories of me and my dad when he's still with us, and those of my family and friends. I value even the text messages. Now, I need to start over again. New memories are easy to achieve and make... But those I've lost are hard to retrieve. Guess I cannot do anything about it tho. I was clumsy in the first place. So it was basically MY FAULT. It's a lesson well learned. No phone for now. Which means harder communication with my family who relies on calls rather than chats. More than anything, I feel angry for myself.

I'll feel the same thing if I were in your place. Did you remember where you left it?

@Aupril23 Oh my! If you rode Grab, there's a possibility that you can still get it back.

@mlgen1037 I actually rode a taxi. so I guess chances are slim. The driver must've picked another passenger who most probably took my phone, if not the taxi driver himself.

@Alexandoy yeah. At least it served as a lesson to everyone to always be mindful and careful of their things. Especially those that are important.

Doesn't your phone have a pass code or something?

Do not blame yourself too much. Things like these happen. Next time, you can back up important files.

@Aupril23 Lately, security has been my concern. Like what if important information, data or files might be present. I shouldnt have given my used phone to our househelp. I should just buy her a new one.

Yeah, Thanks. It made me feel better. My mistake for not saving my pictures to the cloud and did not back up my data tho. It's all gone and once the person who found it manages to open it and delete everything, that's the end.
