I went to Quiapo to visit the famous church there. It's been years since I had been there so maybe it's about time since there is no holiday crowd yet. I was able to buy roasted chestnuts and some fresh and cheap vegetables - broccoli and cauliflower that I would cook into American chop suey for tomorrow. There were some incidents that I would relate in my next post.

The vendors are still there but at least there is a semblance of order. I took some photos that I will share in my next posts.

@LadyDuck roasted chestnut have their smell inside the fridge, that's where I keep them and just reheat in the oven toaster when I would eat.

My parents are both from Manila - Santa Cruz area and Tondo. I was born in San Juan and grew up in Mandaluyong. But I am not well-versed with Manila.

@mlgen1037 it is scheduled for tonight's dinner, Thursday, but I think there are some other plans so it will be for Friday night. The vegetables are wrapped in newspaper and kept in the lower part of the fridge.

That's a long way to travel. Is the weather already fine?
