Unforgettable travel experiences

When I was a kid, I always go with my mother when she will visit the place of my sister with over 300 km distance from our place. We just travel via bus. Halfway to the destination, we need to transfer another bus because there is no single route trip going straight to the place. One unforgettable travel experiences I had was when the bus is overloaded with passengers. It’s difficult for us to secure a seat although we were allowed to ride standing. We could only sit down when one or more of the passengers reached out their respective destination or to a terminal and offload. There was a time when we were standing throughout the entirety of the travel. We're not able to grab a seat because nobody’s in our end drop down until our arrival to the first point of destination. I could still imagine the motions while the bus navigates through the rough roads with shallow holes because that time, the national highway is not fully concrete yet.

I once had traveled from Manila to Naga standing in the bus for 8 hours. It was an ordeal but I had to rush because of an important errand.

@ZedSmart that's one thing I hate when traveling by bus. Now it is better because you can make a reservation by buying the ticket earlier.

@mlgen1037 Of course if I compare the road several years back and now, there's really a big difference because it's now fully concrete.

Well I had the experience riding on a train and it was quite long since there were many stopovers and boring waiting times when you stop from one station to another. Me and my mom would just either slept when the train is stopped and just wait for the train to continue its route. I think it took us 18 hours to reach our destination and me I feel like it was days that pass us by.

My college friend visited Mindanao recently and she had all but praises for the good roads and greens. I hope they proceed with the Mindanao railway to bring Mindanaoans closer. From Cagayan to Zamboanga is a long ride that some would still go to Manila and get a connecting flight to Zamboanga.

@ZedSmart yes that's true roads are cemented yet you can still see the green and unquarried mountains.

Was it holiday when you visited your aunt? That I would not do because my travel time is 4-5 hours from Manila. And that will make me dizzy. But I have tried standing when I went to Pampanga, an hour travel is fine with me.

I do experience it too. I keep on standing until I reach my destination for almost an hour.
