How some myLotters Lose Money

As we know or should know, the way to make money is to get people to respond back to you. We don't get paid for posting, only responses. When I respond to discussions, I try to write something to encourage the writer to give an answer. Then I reply back and try to keep it going as long as there is something of value to say. Some writers actively discourage responses. One time, I was not familiar with what someone wrote about so I asked what it was. He told me to Google it. I did not answer with my opinion of that! Some writers never answer the people who respond to them. Others get mad if you go slightly off-subject. These are ways that some sabotage themselves and don't realize it. Then they lose the pay that they would have gotten.

Some people get upset if the comments start to move away from the original discussion subject. To me that's just the same as a good conversation organically developing and changing and in the myLot context that can only lead to more earnings.

A response is a response. I welcome them all as long as they stay within the myLot TOS.

@akalinus I think that some people think they have the right to control what is discussed in the comments on their discussions. I'm like you. I welcome all comments.

@WorDazza I don't know if there is a rule about it. Some of my most interesting discussions were ones where it veered off of the original post.

Certainly some do sabotage themselves. Other times, the back and forth conversation can go on for ages.

There are some people on here that just take your post to new heights. My heart rejoices when I see them on my discussion.

I hope people read it and keep in mind. When I started in MyLot, I also did not understand what the way is to earn here.

The important thing is that you did learn. Some other sites pay by how much you post and people think the same rule applies here.

Yes I see responses like that that discourage interaction which is of course counter productive on this site.

@Shivram59 I was doing it wrong too. It took a while to learn how to write here. I was doing serious articles and this is not the place for that. I had to learn what people want to hear.

This is it in a nutshell. It's the interaction we get paid for. A LOT of people do not understand that, and I'm like you. If I can keep a conversation going I will.

@akalinus Agreed. It's fun to keep it going, but like any conversation even in real life, you've got to know when to head for the door.

I really don't get those kinds of people. I love discussions even if I don't agree with them.

Disagreeing in a civil way is also a response. I try to avoid the really controversial stuff. It makes my blood boil. Then I want to throw things.

I'm the same way @akalinus I like being as friendly and happy as possible but sometimes I do post a rant if something really bothers me.

It is true, we do not get paid for posting, we get paid if someone type a comment and the one who types a comment get paid if the author replies to the comment. Interaction pays as well as likes.

@akalinus I receive replies to most comments I type. It depends which comment you type. Of course those who type "thanks for sharing" cannot expect a reply.

Yes, that is how I understand it. If we did not post, then you would not have a chance to respond.

Sometimes if i dont know what to write back for my response i just give it a like.i think posting is very easy but it's difficult to respond back to one's own discussion because of lack of understanding and lack of english. Some people dont do it purposely i hope.If someone go off subject it may be they dont have any comments most of the discussions in the day. And yes this site is not best for this kind of people.sometimes i wanted to leave this site but i can't.
