Our desires are endless

Our desires are endless. They're like weeds that never stop growing. Will I be happier with my new apple clock and five new dresses? For a few moments, yes, but generally not.
In this time of Christmas discounts, I choose not to buy anything but go out for a walk with my man, make a delicious dinner and read the book I bought a long time ago but still haven't started.
I choose to look for happiness here and now with as much as there is. The only thing I can really control is my desires. Oh, I noticed that the smaller they are in the material sense, the happier I am.
Have you done with Christmas gifts already?

That's correct. When you get one thing then you desire to get another thing which you don't have.

@MALUSE Yes, from the side, it looks so strange like people live in empty homes and each year they lack a lot of things.

I also love reading a book before falling asleep.

We only had to buy two gift cards this year. My husband and I are not exchanging gifts.

We do not anymore too. We just pamper a little of our children. They are adults already but still our children.
