When is nudity allowed on MyLot?

I stumbled on an old (something like July 2018) discussion about when nudity is allowed on MyLot. Someone mentioned Michelangelo's David, so I decided to do a post about the statue.
Michelangelo created David over a several year period, from 1501 through 1504. Historically, David is famous for slaying a giant, and the story can be found in the Old Testament. Because David was smaller than the Giant he had to use guile (and a slingshot) to defeat his larger foe.
I'd have to reread the Biblical accounts of what the story celebrated, but I believe it is intelligence and planning over brawn. It also celebrated David's faith in God.
And now I'd like to discuss David's penis. Somewhere along the way, I got involved in a discussion over why David is only "partially" circumcised. As a Jew, he would have been circumcised.
Did Michelangelo not do his research? Did he not want to embrace David's Judaism?
It turns out that Michelangelo DID do his research, and that circumcision was different in David's day than it is today. Less of the foreskin was removed in those days.
When I get home from work, I'm going to do some more research. When did the battle between David and Goliath supposedly occur? In what Bible chapters is the story mentioned? And so on.
Here's a fun fact that I just learned this morning: Many statues of David show Goliath's head at David's feet. Michelangelo chose to portray David BEFORE he went into battle with Goliath. The calm in his posture and facial expression shows both his confidence in his methods and his faith in God.

His posture also shows his teeny tiny peepee... as compared to the size of his hands and feet.

Michelangelo was a devout person when he was young, but later in life he developed a belief in Spiritualism. Of course this was not at all appreciated by Pope Paul IV who condemned him. This is the reason why he wished not to be buried in Rome but in Florence. I also like a lot the David by Donatello, it is a bronze, not a marble statue.

I'm with Four Walls. Battle in the buff would have been uncomfortable at best. :-)

Don’t think David went out into battle in the buff, but you never know!

Nice art but we need to alter it to make it all more appealing to look at.

I would think that it's more that Michaelangelo didn't know any Jews as to get a right impression. And any Jewish man wouldn't have posed as a model either, so... My favourite depiction of David is the statue by Bernini -- all movement and fire.
