Little Free Library

Was at an office yesterday and noticed this neat little library of books. It was called Take a Book ~ Return a Book. Many children's books and all kinds of titles in the library case. I asked the receptionist if they have problems with people not returning the books and she said none that she was aware of. A nice little honor system that seems to be working. This would be great especially for kids who may not have books at home. A fun thing to do for all ages. I really should read more. Can't keep my focus. I noticed a website on the front. I checked it out and it was very interesting. Have you seen these little libraries in offices you have been to?

I haven't seen them in offices, but I have seen them all over town, some on people's lawns, one outside the YWCA, another at a park. I think it's a great idea.

All the old telephone boots here in the area have been converted in Free Mini Library. You can bring up to 3 books and get 3.

@CarolDM I had some books that I have received as "gifts" and I already owned or some not interesting. I am bringing the books to the booth and I get something that I do not have.

@CarolDM That is a great idea. Some neighborhoods here have set up a library I think it is like that.

I haven't seen one; but I've heard about them. I haven't been able to read for a couple of years. I can't seem to concentrate enough. I used to be a voracious reader; and I have a bookcase full of books to read.

I have seen them for years. Even on sidewalks. But these days I can see them being vandalized outside. I used to read as well.

I saw a woman featured on television who did the same thing. A tiny little house with books, just like that. She kept it on her lawn, by her mailbox. Apparently, she lives in a neighborhood with good people because she said almost everyone brings the books back. I love the initiative.

We don't have this in here but I heard about it. It's really a good concept to facilitate people to read more. I also have same thought like you if there's an issue for returning the books, glad to know it didn't happen.

There are some neighbourhoods in our city that have those in people's yards. They are usually very close knit neighbourhoods.
