Sometimes the position my cat lays in amazes me. I don't know how she is comfortable laying like a contortionist.
Poor little thing is hot. Same with our dog Charlie. It's Summer here and really hot. I don't hate Summer but it's my least favourite season. Hate the heat and hate all the creepy crawlies that come out trying to eat your face off while strangling you (exaggerating). 
No, just more bugs and spiders pop out to say hello and it annoys me. I literally just caught some freak with too many legs crawling across my lounge room floor. 
We have been reaching a few really hot days where it's been 40 degrees Celsius (104°F). Haaaate it! For most of my adult life, I complain every Summer and threaten to move to Antarctica. 
But I just feel awful for animals. Our air con is not working properly so it's hard to provide a cool place for my cat and dog. They lay near the front or back door trying to get any cool air if any. But otherwise it feels like a sauna in here.

My cay does this and he is not hot!
I prefer the 104 f hot to the 20 f freezing cold, any day.

@andriaperry Yeah my cat will still do this even when not hot. She was just laying down a lot due to the heat at that time. I don't mind heat but not too much heat as for me, it's easier to get warm than it is to cool down.
I'd love to go swimming if I had a pool.

I'm used to her laying like this. I just felt bad for her that night as I could tell she was very hot but even when not hot she lays in weird positions. And thank you kindly. I love this photo too and going to keep it. Makes me giggle.

@LadyDuck Me too! My cat made me giggle and say "aww" so much today. She was all tucked up so tightly that she looked like a ball while she was sleeping. I love when she does that. lol I took a photo so might pop it up here later.

I can imagine how unbearable life must be without properly functioning air conditioning. Sorry to hear that you are baking in the heat over there. And here I thought Florida summers were bad. At least you can relate to what I go through every summer here. Are there any public swimming pools nearby that you can go to and cool off?

40 C can be very hot. I understand about all coming out when it is summer. I hate the ants coming out and have to find ways so they do not get to Sophie's food. Aside from that Spring and Summer are my favorite seasons. I have the fans on in summer so Sophie can get cool. You are not rambling and thanks for sharing.

The all stretched out looks great till I realized the cats is also a little twisted too.
I never been to Australia but I always heard that the country is just filled with animals that want to kill you. Isn't like every animal poisonous or venomous there?
Stay cool over there, I would not be happy about 40 degrees, happy it is winter here it's about 2 degrees right now.

I hear this A LOT! And it doesn't help when the media or comedians talk about Australia like you can die easily. It really depends where you are. Yes we have animals that are deadly but they are not everywhere. They are in specific parts of Australia. They are not outside our houses waiting for us otherwise there would be Aussies dying left, right and centre. If you are more in bush areas, then yeah, you'd have more chance of being bitten / attacked by something. Or even more so in the outback, you would find more animals there. Just need to be in the right areas and if you're in those areas, just need to be cautious.

@VivaLaDani13 LOL, yea, I get what you are saying, I do a lot of camping out in the wilderness and you just have to be aware. most animals hear/smell you long before you get to them and they will head in the other direction away from you. If you do sneak up on them it might be bad for you.

@valmnz I would love to go to New Zealand one day. It looks beautiful as well as some adventurous activities there ( from what I've seen online ).
There have been some really bad bush fires here. Could see the huge smoke from my house. But thankfully controlled now or possibly completely out now.

@valmnz I do hope you're able to go to Perth one day. I was born in Sydney but moved to Perth when I was about 5 years old. Been to Sydney about 2 or 3 times to visit family. I hate flying though.

She is cute. Cats like to stretch out sometimes and just chill. Hope you're safe from the fire! Hope things get better and cooling temps arrive. Locally we get that way during summer months. I've got no air conditioning so when temps get uncomfortable I put my electric fan on, day and night.

Many are praying for Australia and the safety of all Australians from the deadly fire. But as usual got to keep an ear to the news always, too. I live in Hawaii, where we are in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, so I always keep an ear to news. That's why I listen to radio instead of podcast.
