Funny place names.

As you can see from the photo this is taken of road signage deep in the countryside of Kent England giving directions to the following towns. Ham and Sandwich. This sign always makes me laugh because reading it you would automatically think of an edible Ham Sandwich rather than the villages!
I am about to go one a holiday over Christmas and the New Year so I thought this would be a great way to say Have a wonderful celebration over the festive period. I wish you much joy, Health and happiness with your families and friends and l will be back to see you all again soon!
I will look out for some more funny road/ town signs.

If Ham is only half a mile from the signpost, why bother noting it? I didn't even see the 1/2 so read it as ham sandwich.

These are tiny village direction signs with tiny lanes so if you happen to miss it you could be driving around for ages trying to find it. It is very rural with hedgerows so you can not orientate yourself as to where you are. Saturday this happened to me I was meeting my sister at another tiny village restaurant I was driving around for about 20 minutes before I got on the right road. I was in the right area but just happened to miss the right road.

We use imperial measures for distance so it is miles and not kilometers!

Wow what a coincidence Dover was my town of birth. The UK Dover though! Chatham is about 10 miles from where I am living now! You have a great time too!

I will take photos but probably won't post them until I get back as there is no internet at sea. Well there is but it is ridiculously expensive but unreliable too! Have a lovely Christmas and New YEar!

That's a good one. When I visited Amish country in Pennsylvania (U.S.) there was a town call Bird-In-Hand.

I doubt it in Ham as it is a tiny Village but you may get away with it in Sandwich although I would prefer a sandwich over a burger any time!
