It is the same here. I have read several very good posts. I comment them. And I never receive an answer to my comment.
As I am nosy, I go back to the post. I ask myself what did I do wrong. Maybe I made the wrong comment.
But no. The post is wonderful, has received a lot of comments but not a single one has been answered.
After some time, I quit following the brilliant writer and promise myself that I will NEVER answer such posts nor even spend my precious time reading them.
I have friends because we interact. I know about them and they know about me.

So often the poster has nothing constructive to add to a comment and just gives a like. Time is tight for many here so they cannot respond to every comment. That's reality. I don't respond to the majority of comments I receive because I have nothing interesting to offer or the comment doesn't require a response.

Sometimes we don´t have anything constructive to add. Nevertheless, a thank you is nice besides the like. And when it doesn´t require a response at all, it does not require a like either.

I always answer my notifications. I am very grateful if people respond to my discussions and will reply to every one who comments although sometimes it's hard to respond to a one word reply. I don't actually follow many people, I just sieve through discussions and answer those I find the most interesting.

We cannot read every post here as there are too many. But many times, if we read and respond a post we like, we can start a sort of conversation with the lotter. And after a while, we become friends

If people never interact I stop reading their discussions. I don't expect to get a comment every time. Sometimes people are busy or just don't have anything to say, but if it happens over and over I lose interest in their discussions.

@marguicha After some time we get to know people here, and we also know if they usually interact or not. I prefer to talk to people who want to interact.

I agree. I don´t expect to receive an answer to everyone of my comments. But surely some of the comments merit an answer.

There are a lot of people on here that do this they expect you to interact on their post but when you do they give nothing back

@marguicha but social sites are there to persue in their spare time. If they are busy at the time they may like it with every intention to come back to it but never get there.

I believe some people do not wish to take the time to respond to people. Building a rapport with people is becoming rarer and rarer these days. And some people are losing the ability to communicate I find even through text. Sad times

@marguicha they probably don't realise that to have people interested in their content they must first put out by responding to posts by other people. It is simple networking. They probably thought they could put a post and get paid without interacting or re-interacting.
