It was an experience

At university, I had an instructor for a practical class. This instructor seemed to have a cultural bias. His in-class hierarchy was: Asian men, Asian women, Indian men, Indian women, White men and lastly White women. He would mostly ignore students that were white. Moreso if they were a woman. He made life difficult for me which included assigning me to work on my own. After that I then moved to a different instructor. I noticed after I did this he started picking on said instructor. My new instructor went out of his way for me on more than one occasion. In the last 15 minutes of the practical (I was behind because the practical is designed for partners) I still had some things to do and went to the resource tray and realised there was none left (there should have been) so I had to ask my original instructor because mine was busy. He told me that I should pack up and go home because I can't complete the practical. Thankfully my current instructor came to my rescue he went to a fridge and got a small vial of what I needed telling me to use it and all the while my original instructor was protesting. Fortunately I managed to finish the experiment with my instructors' help and 2 additional hours in the lab. Have you ever come across something like this while in education?

Not quite the same, but when I was at School I used to get bullied a lot and in home economics class one time the pupils started picking on me and all the teacher did was sit there and laugh. Me and a friend went and told the headmistress about this and I think that the teacher must have got in real trouble for that.

Im sorry that it happened to you. I had a similar situation in year 10 it seemed the teacher had never left Highschool and wanted to be 'popular' with the other females in the class. I was excluded from a camping group and she was very displeased that she had to force the other girls to let me join a group. So much so she had to send me and the boys out of the class and only talk to the girls...

@Fa_Maverick Thank you. It's not acceptable that these things happen.
