As expected there was a box from Misfits Market waiting on the doorstep when I got back to the apartment. I always like opening it up and seeing what I've received. Today's delivery included: spaghetti squash, purple potatoes, onions, turnips, a sunchoke, cauliflower, kale, jalapenos, apples, clementines, and pears. I've never had turnips before nor have I eaten sunchoke. I will have to look online to figure out how to prepare them. What do you think of the selection? Is there anything there that you wouldn't eat?

That is like something they do here. I forget what they call it, but the fruit is considered awkward shape, but good.

@NJChicaa Yes, that is what it is called here I think, Imperfect Produce, I was thinking of trying that sometime. I seen the truck come and deliver across the street to a neighbor, what threw me off was the truck was really old, and looked junky, I wondered what the fruit looked like.

I've never had purple potatoes. Are they good? I am curious about a sunchoke as well. I have heard of it, but I don't believe I've ever tried it.

Purple potatoes taste just like regular ones. They actually lighten up in color when you boil them.

@NJChicaa Ah okay. They are generally smaller though? Like, they don't usually grow big?

I wouldn't eat the turnips or jalapenos. I would give the sunchoke a try. The rest looks good. You have a good selection.

Turnips are quite similar to potatoes, but the taste is sweeter. Sunchoke, I have no idea what this is, I need to look it up today. Your Misfit selection is nice, it always is!

@NJChicaa Sunchoke is like a potato, but it's cooked a little different. I wonder where it was grown.
