I didn't have too much to buy this Christmas as my son talked us into pulling names for a Secret Santa gift. But I still will buy my 2 granddaughters, my husband, my Secret Santa gift, and do small stockings for the granddaughters.
A little baking- will make their favourite lemon cheesecake. Basically a toned down Christmas- but I still feel like I have a lot to do.
Merry Christmas myLotters and hope your day is warm and joyful! Let me know how your plans are shaping up!

@MarymargII Yes it is a cake "Christmas Yule Log" cake. We do not have turkey at Christmas. I am Catholic, no meats on Christmas Eve, we have everything with fish. In Italy the tradition was 7 different kind of fish. The big meal is on the Christmas day in Italy and France too, the big celebration in the evening is on New Year's Eve.

@LadyDuck Yes a Yule log- I have seen them in many bakeries here. Our big meal is also on Christmas Day and is usually turkey. Meat pies or tourtieres are usually eaten on Christmas Eve. We do not do fish meals here unless it is your native tradition. Of course Canada is a mix of many cultures.

What's that ? A cake. French recipe anyway-- and it does sound good. Do you have turkey at Christmas or a special other meal. I know many Europeans have their big meal on Christmas Eve.

Merry belated Christmas to you . . . and a happy new year!! Hope all your holidays were lovely and that you are doing well too! We tried to keep things simpler this year too (well last year technically ) - ah much better when there is less stress and we can actually enjoy all the festivities!

@MarymargII Thank you! I hope you enjoyed the holidays - oh gosh wish you a speedy recovery from that cold (it's that season). I haven't been around much - only here and there the past couple months - but I'm inching my way back. Take care - get better soon!

So good- I love this cheesecake recipe but not all cheesecakes. Some are a little dry.
