Staying Focused vs Distracted

I find myself getting distracted all the time. It really struck me over the last week when I had to do some continuing education for my business licence. It's been a very long time since I've had to sit through 8 hours of lessons everyday and it was only for 4 days. I was distracted by my laptop, my phone, and any shiny thing that caught my eye lol. As I was driving away from the school I realized I didn't retain a whole lot of what was being taught and how being distracted prevents me from getting the most productive work done. It stifles creativity and reduces productivity. Do you stay focused or do you allow your thoughts, your kids, your phone, etc. to distract you away from the tasks at hand?

I can easily get distracted too. I do sometimes have a hard time staying focused. It can be a challenge for me.

I have moments like that as well so I just buy myself some time to get focused.

@Nakachan Even though it was for 4 days it is still hard for sitting in a classroom. It is hard to concentrate when you are distracted. I have my moments where I can be focused and moments where I am distracted with something.

I probably get distracted more than I should. when I do need to get a project done, I put music or a podcast on my phone and turn off all other notifications

Having an attention disorder I get distracted very easily which is an issue when you are doing a double degree and you don't have much time to waste. I find having a routine helps me with study at least and I still even at 21 use a rewards system to get things done. I also use music to stay focused anything with a fast beat helps because it's almost like it is matching the pace at which my brain is going.
