Hannuka Dreidl

I have to show you a picture of my Sophie playing with a dreidl I bought us for Hannuka this year. She really likes it. I took the picture this morning and we playing with it a little. Yesterday I did not take a picture but this morning I had to. Hannuka started Sunday night and will be done on Monday night. Yes, we have 8 days of joy and it is a very joyful holiday. It moves around and lights up and sings in Hebrew. It is very cool.

I used to get a mix and make them but they were too greasy. Last year I made my own version that was not greasy. Yesterday I fried potatoes and onions together and ate those and they were less greasy and I have left overs. Do you make them and also get jelly donuts?

Sophie looks at it and then one picture I took that I will put here is her kicking at it with her paw. Sorry, Oshy, that is the best I can do.

It is something we have for our Holiday of Hannuka which last 8 days. I am Jewish and do not celebrate Christmas. We are celebrating Hannuka which started on Sunday night and will be over next Monday night.

That shows that Sophie is all excited with the lights, movement and song. Seems like a good toy for her.

So true. I love to watch Sophie look at it the way it moves. She just sits and stares at it. It puts a smile on my face. I am learning that she enjoys just simple things in life and my attention. It is taking me a while to figure that out.

The original dreidl was a 4 sided one that we had to use our imagination. Now, we have laser ones that spin, light up and sing. This is a picture of the old and new dreidls.

Sophie did enjoy it. Hannuka was over on the 30th at night. I hope you enjoy your New Year. Mine was in September when we have our Jewish Year New.
