Final Post of the Day

It has been a truly wonderful day. My cinnamon applesauce bread is out of the oven, the no-bake pumpkin pie is chilling in the fridge, and I'm ready to turn on the TV and watch my favorite Christmas movie, White Christmas.
My kitchen is cleaned up and I'm running the dishwasher one last time. It's hard to believe the kitchen was a mess a half-hour ago. I know I'm still a mess. I bought a hand blender earlier this month and used it to make the no-bake pumpkin pie with interesting results. I had batter everywhere. It worked much better when I had all the ingredients in the bowl. I also used it for the bread. Again, I had batter all over the counter, microwave, and fridge. Me too. I'll be taking a shower before I go to bed tonight. It's a good thing I'm doing laundry tomorrow. My shirt looks like a war zone. Which is good since you need to make a mess when you cook those awesome goodies.
I forgot to mention the three Christmas cards that arrived in the mail this morning. Thank you @shays-creations, @courtney, and @jellybelly for the beautiful cards.
I hope you'll have a great rest of your evening. Thanks for reading. The image is the cards I received today. Merry Christmas if I don't see you tomorrow. Be sure to have a hot cup of tea ready when I arrive at your place tomorrow to chat with you.
I will try to catch up with notifications by the end of the weekend.

@just4him I will forever remember the first blender I bought from my Mom, it was 1976. The morning of Christmas my brother wanted to make a mayo, I did not stop him in time and he spilled egg and oil all over the kitchen and also on himself.

bless yer heart, those mixers can be very messy fer certain, lol. bet yer place jest smelled divine with those lovely goodies bein' made, that bread bakin'...i fear i'd prolly ate the 'ntire thingy 'fore cooled, lol.
been a long day here 'n i've jest ran the turkey bone broth through 'ts final sieve 'n got such put 'nto jars. gonna take me a shower whilst such cools so's they can go 'nto the fridge. will be haulin' 'em to my sweet momma's tomorrow to use'n the schtuffin' 'n gravies. made 'bout 55oz 'f the schtuff, so ought'a be more'n plenty. the ferals'll be thrilled 's i went through the carcass 'n pulled out all the lil meats ya jest can't get off. they'll be gettin' that fer their dinner tomorrow.
merry Christmas 'n 've a wonderful time with the family, hon.

@just4him really? needed to get all those bits 'f herbs, veggies, bones, etc out so i'd 've a clean batch. yummy schtuff 'n good fer ya, too with all that collagen.
so glad yer gettin' multi-uses out'ta such, hon. i like that they aint big space hoggers, too. hmm, 'd not thought to use such fer my bread makin'. might give such a go. i make quite the mess when i tackle such with the big stand mixer. burnt out my mamaw's mixer, danged the luck. 'twas 'nly 63 yrs young 'n worked like a champ. 'til last year'n i made some chocolate gingerbread cake....that'd be some thick batter! too much fer 't.
yes ma'am, 'twas great to be with momma 'n then the youngest came. i hear ya 'bout bein'n' yer feet all day. i did such fer 2 's i took to all the cookin' this year. e'en made homemade cranberry sauce 'n dinner rolls. the latter 'f which 'twas murder coz i sure wished fer a bite! gluten...dang 't, lol. not used to havin' a babe'n my hip neither whilst tendin' the kitchen. 'twas great though 'n 'd not trade that time fer nothin'.
we've 'd now 2 fronts come through which've kicked my backside. though the hubs 'n momma believe 'tis coz i "did too much". sigh...
fog? ya must'a sent that this way coz 'twas'n all day thingy here friday.

@crazyhorseladycx Not yeast bread. I don't know how it would do for that, but like banana bread type bread.
I'm glad you had a good Christmas.

That sounds interesting. I've never put the broth through a sieve before.
On your advice, I bought the hand blender so I could make mayonnaise since I couldn't do it in my Ninja. It came in really handy with making the bread. I used it yesterday to mash up the sweet potatoes and potatoes for Christmas dinner. It worked super well and no mess. I finally got the hang of it.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your momma.
It was good. I spent most of it on my feet cooking. When I sat down to eat, the couch was so low I almost couldn't get up from it when I needed to leave to take my grandson to work. I left half my supplies at my son's and my laundry. I need to go back this morning to get it.
We had dense fog yesterday and facing the same today.
