City streets are full of beggars

On our way to the family reunion, it seems that all the main thoroughfares in the city have people who are begging. They are not beggars but just plain opportunists who are using the season for begging. Worse, they even use their children to earn sympathy. This is the Christmas in our cities.

I differ with you here. Who would like to beg if one's conditions is good? They are there on the streets, may not be because of their needs, but because their condition is not as good. They sacrifice their self esteem to the conditions they are in.

@msdivkar maybe you have to come here to experience and see for yourself who those beggars are. They are not really beggars but opportunists.

I think we have no right to judge them. Whatever they are doing is their choice. You have to only decide whether to give them money or not. If not, then keep walking instead of sharing their pictures online. We are no one to judge anyone. The only one who has the power to judge is God. And also, we have the bad habit of generalizing everything. Just because there are thousands of fake beggars in the world, it does not mean that everyone is fake. We cannot judge by look; we get to understand this only by understanding their stories.

That is pretty shameful. Its actually the opposite here. The only time people seem nice to the homeless is around these times. Very few homeless ever around on Christmas. It is like well if you can do it now, why not 365 days a year.

That's also the trend here that people are generous during this season so some people are taking advantage of that condition.

@Alexandoy I can imagine. It is like why not just fix the problem right so all this madness stops.

@crossbones27 when you say fix the problem about begging that needs a drastic action by the government. It has been done many times but the beggars come back after some time.

I've seen a few kids on my few trips giving out envelops, but never put anything on them. But there was this one lady who came up to the jeep and started selling ball pens, I didn't give in to that either.

Those beggars are turning the streets into their business venue.

Out here in the rural area where I live I don't see beggars, but we see this in the cities. Merry Christmas.
