Maintaining the car is like raising a kid....

My car loan was paid off finally.
I can breath a little bit easier now.
However, when I calculate the total cost of maintaining the car, OMG, it is expensive, although it is under the control of my budget.
It reminds me of how expensive to raise a kid... even I don't have any kids right now.
On the one hand, the car does his job to offer me its much convenience and save me a lot of time, on the other hand, of course I need to spend a lot to maintain it.
Sometimes, I would rather take the subway or buses to work than driving to office. Especially when encounter the serious traffic jams!
The traffic jams are worse in the center of town. Once I got stuck in the traffic jam line 1 miles away from my home and it cost me 30 minutes.
How desperate for a lucky break ...And the fuel burned my money while waiting...
.maybe a few years later, I will sell it as a secondhand.

You are right with your analogy. We have 2 cars that we bring to the dealer's shop for the regular preventive maintenance. It is very expensive.
