Why Should You Be Using Most Recent ACTIVITY?

I know that some people have said they do not often go to the Most Recent Activity section of this site since many have said, "I find it harder to find more posts to read, and it just repeats itself."
I get that. I find this too.
BUT, I think if just ONE of the aims here is to increase our earnings, if we are NOT frequently using the Most Recent Activity section, we are leaving money on the table.
Why?
Because it happens to be one place where a post we wrote months ago might show back up on that list and now someone else may see it and add a response, having missed the post when it was originally posted.
An old post could now see days more activity where had no one bothered to see it in Most Recent Activity, it would just simply go ignored forever.

For me, I don't pay much attention to that. 99.9% of the time I am commenting on posts finding their posts from comments left on my own, or through Most Recent Activity. For whatever reason I have a feeling that there are few people that frequent that section. I know there is a lot of repetetiveness there. But I still find what I am looking for, and it is why I spend probably most of my time in that section.
I also really like the idea of giving older posts second, third, and fourth chances to be seen and commented on.

Makes sense. Thanks for the idea. Will definitely check that tab more often since you mentioned it.

After I have answered my notifications I always go to Recent Activity. Where is everyone else going? Am I missing the party?!

@porwest To be fair I check most of the categories. The one thing I like about MyLot is there is always plenty to post on. Obviously I'm not going to be interested in everything but there is always a lot of scope. I see people saying there isn't much they can post on but I can always find heaps.

@sprite1950 Yeah. Me too. I never fail to find SOMETHING. Worst case scenario I go to someone's profile and scroll down. OR I see what THEY have commented on. Always something to find.

Most of the time when I post about this sort of thing people say they tend to go to Most Recent Discussions. Very few have said they go to Most Recent Activity. But that is where I ALWAYS go. I wish more people did go to the Activity section—a lot of older posts wind up there and I like it when I find them and can contribute to them and help breathe new life into some of them. But I do like to scroll down often on one's profile as well to find something I may have missed.

@Lushlala Me too. Luckily there ARE a handful of people here that actually go looking for them. One, like myself, HOPES that responding to them makes them seen in Most Recent Activity. But I find a lot of people avoid this section of the site for whatever reason.

@myklj999 How do you know what number the discussion is? When I look at this discussion's URL, where I think you got the number from, I see three different sets of numbers.

I use the Most Recent Activity section also because while people might not be making new discussions, they are almost always responding and commenting in older ones.
As far as older discussions, another good way to find these is just by looking on the side bar of a discussion. That sidebar (beside the responses and comments) usually have discussions that are similar to the discussion you are reading at the moment.

Yeah. But reading everyone, to me, means being able to look beyond what was just posted today and find stuff we may have missed from yesterday, and months ago. Most often you can find THOSE posts in Most Recent Activity.
Especially if there are guys like me who tend to go to someone's profile and scroll down to find old stuff. I bring it to the fore in Most Recent Activity.

I use "Their Discussions" since that gives me all the discussions of the people that I follow. That way I don't miss any.

What I like about Most Recent Activity as well is that sometimes you can find older posts to respond to since any new activity on those posts puts them at the top of the pile. I still almost exclusively frequent that section of the site over all others.

@Micharica Yep. It's easy to miss posts around here. So sometimes you more easily find them in that section of the site.
