I was talking to my sister this afternoon about the gym the past couple of days and I told her that my neck was sore and I had no idea why. She immediately said it was because of the overhead kettlebell carries that we did for 3 minutes a side on Monday. That made sense to me.
So now I know why my neck and traps are sore. I just wish I had someone to massage them for me.

The next time you are out go to the dollar tree and get some of those decorative rocks. Boil a pot of water on the stove and then turn off the burner, put those rocks in the water and let them soak for a little while. One of my exes was great at massages, though he hadn't gone to school for it. He used to put rocks in a crock pot full of water, roll those into a towel and then place it around a person's neck. It really helps with the tension in the neck.
Or I guess you could just find one of those things that can either be heated or frozen and put it around your neck...

Maybe Scarlet will walk on your neck for you. Hopefully you will feel better soon.
