YOU help me with so much everyday, but I guess you didn't know that

I see people post about this stuff from time to time. How using mylot and talking to all of their friends here has helped them to pay a bill, or to save towards a vacation. A lot of us remember when MysD used to be on mylot all the time and how she had goals to see her family in the States. She was probably the biggest cheerleader for us all here, cheering us and encouraging us in our individual goals and aspirations.
I was just thinking a few minutes ago about how much mylot has helped me over the many years that I have been here. Did you know that a lot of you helped me pay for my wedding all those years ago? I just wish you all had warned me that I shouldn't have bothered. 
Many of you are newer than all that, but you've still helped me pay a bill or two or get a thing or two that I need or wanted.
It's more than all that though. We help each other emotionally as well. We worry about each other here as we form friendships. We cheer those on who have accomplished something big in their life, and we mourn for those who have left this world.
Mylot is a wonderful place of growth and laughter. It's a great community with people from all over the world. I've learned a lot here, and I can't wait to learn more.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I understand that Amber. I believe we had spoken about at least one of those people a while ago. Yes best to ignore it. Meanwhile enjoy ourselves with those decent people here.

I can believe it. Mylot represents so many different nations, so many different backgrounds. I can think of atleast one person here that I cringe whenever I see their username on one of my discussions. They go unanswered.

@TiarasOceanView Agreed. There are plenty of decent and fun people to talk to here. Perhaps those rude, and altogether mean spirited people will get the message and either leave or change their attitudes.

Aww MyLot has really been great for you and that gives me hope for the site. Many of you won't know me, but I've come and gone for the past probably 3-4 years. The last time I left MyLot I genuinely meant to NEVER return. Why, I hear you ask. When I first joined, there were many nasty cliques and downright bullies who would really have a go at others. What really upset me was that nobody would come to anybody's rescue. I suffered a particularly nasty racist attack and decided never to return. But some friends have recently told me the site's much better and ever since I've come back this year, I sense that the mood and atmosphere is definitely lighter, friendlier and more welcoming :)))))

@ScribbledAdNauseum Thanks so much :) At the time what really bothered me was that even some of my so-called friends 'liked' the vile things that were being hurled at me. That actually hurt more. I don't know if they were just on auto-pilot and will never know. Thankfully, the site does seem a lot better now :)

Yes, unfortunately mylot has had periods where people were attacking one another, and generally being nasty towards one another. There are still a few people on the site that can be that way, but for the most part everyone treats each other with respect and kindness. I'm sorry you had to go through that but I am glad you gave the site another chance.

I have been helped when I was in chemotherapy years ago. I saved money to help for my holidays here. But more than that I have met real friends here, not only the unreal friends one expects to find on the web.

Yes, I like that this site has a lot of people from all over, but who have had similar life experiences and can build friendships together. Like with you and Coral, You were able to develop a friendship and finally meet face to face last year.

Throughout the years, I've been on myLot for many reasons. It's definitely helped me to pay for a few things - but really it's filled a certain void in my life. I have enjoyed the communication here with everyone . . . I appreciate that I can have my say and there are folks who are willing to listen and comment - and we can have a concise conversation about, well, anything. And it's interesting how friendships have come out of that - it's truly been a pleasure getting to know many of you (in big and little ways - it all counts in my world 
).

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes, it's definitely been a great place to rant - I've had my share of venting out my frustrations from the real world. I haven't been here for a while, but during that time I have missed myLot greatly . . . I really appreciate what we have here and I sure hope myLot sticks around for a long time. And yah, there are folks who are just not around myLot anymore - they are missed!

Happy New Year to you as well. Yes, mylot has been many things to me over the years. I remember when I was working at one place it was a source for me to rant about the unfairness I was dealing with. Now that I am no longer employed, it's a fun place to be to de-stress, and to get a few dollars for my effort. I love the friendships I have made here as well, and miss those I no longer speak to for whatever reason.

Yes, there's usually atleast one or two people that try to make a person comfortable and familiar with this site. We were all once "Strangers" here.

@ScribbledAdNauseum hmm I don't recall many many names from way back when unfortunately. I did make a lot for great friends though so I was sad when the site stopped paying and I lost track of them.

You may remember me from my old username of somecowgirl. I got this new one a few years ago when I couldn't log back in. I decided to "reinvent" myself. For a long time I had my display name as "somecowgirl" so people would know who I was.

@shaggin Yes, I was sad too, but then I was invited to a group on facebook for mylotters and was able to keep in touch. Of course then JJ tells us all that mylot was back and paying so we flocked back, most of us anyway.

Yes, there are all sorts of people in the world, and all sorts of people on mylot. Unfortunately, we all fall victim to people judging us here on mylot. I have been judged before here and I let it bother me. I now try not to let it bother me at all. We are all different, and only we know our situations.

As do I. I also love the pet pictures since I can't have pets here. That and the food posts, I love a good new recipe or a new product to try know you have done a lot of both of those types of posts.

I am glad that I am able to help you feel better. That is what I like to do, to try to give people a different perspective, or a safe place to vent if they need to do so. I like chatting with you as well, though we haven't chatted as often as we once did.

Most people here are great. There are a couple of people that I won't interact with because of things they've done or said in the past, but for the most part everyone is fun to talk to and offers different insights that are fun to explore.

Yes, lots of different things to learn and converse about. I have learned a lot about other cultures that I never knew before.
