The old and the new.

I just read a post by @LoriAMoore about encyclopedias. It took me back to many things that were part of my life and aren´t any longer. I mylot in my bed now while a bid TV on the wall is now showing animals. If I get tired, I can change the channels from my bed. I was once the proud owner of a 33 inches Sony TV. When the devices to watch movies appeared, I had to change the TV as it had no way to adjust the Betamax to it. The incredible amount of gadgets we have now (some that will last a small amount of time) was not to be imagined a few decades ago. The web changed so many things that the younger generation don´t even know or care for the old things. I am worried that some literary treasures will disappear. Educations has changed a lot too. As for me, I google new things online but still prefer to read paper books. How about you?

I only read paper books. I love the feel, smell, and tradition. I only read books online when traveling.

Same here. Fortunately we don't have to worry about real books disappearing completely in our lifetimes.

I get all my books from the library. It's free and once I read a book, I don't care about owning a copy.

I want to hold a book in my hand and not read some screen. You can't break a book if you drop it unlike a Kindle. No one wants to steal a book like a Kindle. I can put a paperback in my back pocket and sit on it without fear of breaking.

And there´s a sort of love story between the pages and myself.

I started as a librarian and then studied literature. My world is all about books.

I still love my paperbooks. I love the smell of printed words and I feel special holding a good book in my hand.
