will changing my avatar or profile picture be enough?

belated happy new year and advanced chinese new year, fellow mylotters!
so i finally remembered to change my avatar/profile picture from the parol (philippine christmas lantern) to the regular picture of my shoes.
(our christmas decors are still up, though, but i will deal with them this week!)
i went to pixabay earlier to look for a new avatar or profile picture and have already downloaded two.
hmm, i wonder if fellow mylotters will notice when i change it? i wonder if they'll think i'm a new member? that would be an interesting experiment.
(but i will not change my country, although i know some frequently do, which can get confusing)
maybe i'll have to type differently, too. or use special characters.
(i use small letters because it feels less formal to me. my emails to family and friends are in small letters, too. but i make sure to use spaces, punctuations and paragraphs to still make them readable!)
so do you have any plans about your mylot account or plans on how you will mylot differently this year?
can you recognize people here even when they change their name or picture?

I never change my avatar. I get confused when people change all the time, I recognize the picture but often I do not remember the name. I am glad that at least the username cannot be changed, at least I can check that one if I do not recognize a user.

@LadyDuck i was talking about those that change both their display name and picture.
for example, the original avatar is a flower, the display name is aloha, the registered name is islandgirl.
then they decide to change their avatar to a waterfall and their display name to their real name, like kalena.
t first glance, you will think it's a new member unless you check the registered name, which takes a while to see because it's gray then go to their profile to see their description, join date and activity.

I am not sure if I can increase my activities here. I wish I could. I asked Alexa (as if I have) to take down the Christmas decors.

i think most of us are visual. but i think it also helps if the name before and after the @ sign are similar if the avatar changes

I haven't changed mine since I joined here many years ago. I think I was here a decade or so and since I chose that avatar I have never tried to changed it anymore. I do not know why I chose this but I am used to it already. It used to be a moving avatar but over time it does not move anymore and just stays like that.

@hereandthere sometimes it can be confusing but it helps that your photo will be the same even if you change user name so others will still recognize you

but in your case you always upload a selfie and you never change you name which is a unique name so we always recognize you.

Well, for me the change is that I am back after three months.
I think, the ones we are familiar, even if they change names or pictures we can still make out.
"change my country" like seriously...??? but why...? Are they relocating....?

It's been awhile since I last changed my profile picture. My profile picture is about 2 years old from my engagement party. I do not plan on changing my profile picture though.
Happy belated New Years!

No plans to change my profile picture. I am too lazy for those. Well I missed your last picture. I have always seen these shoes and associated it with you.
But I definitely would like to mylot more and earn more in this year. That's the only plan or strategy and I need to work on that.

I think changing avatar or profile picture won't affect your username.

@hereandthere unless you close your account here and come up with a new username.
