The water fountain of La Carlota enhances the beauty of the plaza. "Dungog sg Mangkas" as the people call it is a local dialect vernacular. It's translated as "The Pride of Mangkas".
Mangkas is brave warrior native in our place according to folklore. He inhabited the place which is rich in flora and fauna. He took control of the place, protected it from aggressors.
Thus the ancient name of La Carlota is Mangkas. In honor to Mangkas, "Dungog sg Mangkas" was conceived and constructed in an elevated part of the plaza overlooking the city hall. The design of various objects in the said fountain is a replica of the tourist attractions like the red rooster, the locomotive, the sugar mill, the sugarcane with sakada or cane cutters, and the spotted deer under the twin falls.

@Nakitakona I know some people who worked in La Carlota. They are still farmers now but not employed in the sugar mill anymore.
