Do you often use vinegar in cooking?

I am cooking a mixture of chicken and pork in soy sauce and I put some vinegar. Actually, it is my least favorite ingredient but somehow it is beneficial because it delays spoilage of food. It enhances the aroma of food too. I am using vinegar made from coconut juice. Do you use vinegar in your cooking?

I didn't know you could make vinegar from coconuts. Vinegar helps to make meat more tender too.

@Janet357 There have been many koalas killed in the fires. It is very sad indeed. Mostly I might add a tablespoon of vinegar to a casserole. I don't soak the meat in vinegar unless it is part of a marinade.

I use rice vinegar when making sushi (I follow the recipe). Other than that, I don't often use it for anything I think.

@Janet357 My children love that dish and I made the sushi for them often. According to the recipe, a mixture of rice vinegar and sugar (+ some salt) is supposed to be prepared prior to the mixing with the right type of rice (cooked).

I do not like vinegar. I sometimes use balsamic vinegar of modena when I eat fresh mozzarella or burrata with tomato. Otherwise I do not use vinegar in my dishes.
