Easy On The Kahlua

It was two days before my wife and I got married. I decided to whip up a batch of Kahlua pork chops in the oven. Just another dish I like to make from time to time. That was the first time I had made this particular dish though. I remember smelling it cooking, and boy did it smell delicious. I couldn't wait to dig in. At one point I thought I better have a look to see how they were coming along. I opened the oven door and immediately saw an array of colors. I remember thinking WTF is that? It was VERY quick. And then POOF! This massive greenish, blue flame burst out of the oven and in a flash it was gone. I felt the heat, and I thought for sure my eyebrows were gone and part of my mustache and goatee were gone too. But while it WAS a flame, apparently it was not a dangerous one. I definitely made a note to myself for the next time I would make this dish. A little less Kahlua might be a good idea.

lol. It was definitely an oh shite moment for me. Luckily there were no singed facial hairs to speak of which I am sure would have looked MARVELOUS on the wedding photos.
