Am I crazy?

I do not know how to start. But since you do not like to read long discussions, so I have to make it short. LOL. Last year I went to Social Security System ( SSS) to check my brother's monthly contributions. My brother works in Saudi Arabia and he only has contributions that won't entitle him to receive a pension. He was so shocked for he always sends money monthly. His wife left him and his three children for another man. The money sent to her for his his children were spent for her happiness with her adulterous man. My brother and his co-workers no longer receive salary from their employer for 19 months, so no money for his SSS payment. In fact, I keep on sending him money in Saudi for his foods. This day, I went to SSS and talked to the branch manager if my brother could continue paying his SSS for my brother turns 60 on Monday, January 13. . I told him that my brother is broke in Saudi and plans to retire at age 65. The manager smiled at me and told me that my brother could continue paying up to age 65. I thanked the Lord. I processed everything until I reached to the paying department. You may call me crazy for I paid the SSS premiums of my brother good for three years advance at 600 pesos per month in the amount of P21, 600 peso ( more or less $400 US dollar). When I reached home from almost whole day transaction in SSS, I told my sisters at home I paid our brother's SSS. They told me " I am crazy" . I and my sisters have different feelings of pity and understanding. What is money for when my brother retires very poor. I have to help him by all means for I love my brother and I love God. Am I crazy guys? It is all up to you. It is for the sake of love.

Not crazy at all. As long as you are in a position to help, it is a very kind and thoughtful thing to do.

@cacay1 If you are doing what is right and good, you shouldn't worry about the people who look down on you for that. Your brother is lucky to have someone like you, especially as it seems your other siblings don't want to help him.

@pumplinjam, thank you so much for inspiring me. Now I have to stop crying and worrying on what the people at home were saying to me. I love my brother. I know his sufferings that is why I never hesitate to help him. He turns 60 on Monday, January 13 and broke. The next year I pay, I won't tell people at home.

It's your money and you can do what you want with it. There's nothing wrong with helping so long as it won't hurt our own finances.

@louievill,you're right my friend. It's my money and the intention to spend it for my brother is to help him secure his old age with at least a pension though small but life time. My salary is bigger enough to secure my future too. I paid good for three years because brother lacks good for 9 years to update his sss premiums and he will be 60 years old on Monday

@DianneN there are truly haters in the world. I wonder why they did not appreciate my help. I imagine ahead the kind of life my brother would have without a pension . Despite small, but it could help him at least for some foods and medicine .

@LadyDuck , you are right. We will be restless if cannot extend our help especially if there is reason to help. My brother is broke and he is 60 on Monday, January 13 and broke. He's the one I told here before struggling for a living in Saudi and sent him money almost four times already. I'm going to send him small money next week for his foods. I'm truly sad of the fate of my brother.

You're not crazy. You love your brother and you don't want to see him without money when he retires. Your sisters have no empathy for your brother and his needs. I'm sorry his job isn't paying him and he is in the situation he's in, in Saudi Arabia. I hope things improve for him and he starts getting paid.

@arsa101, my brother could have lump sum money if their employer pays them good for 19 months missed paid salary and others. He said that he would received almost 2 million pesos. I hope the court in Saudi grants the OFW's . They struggled a lot.

@rsa101 , yes they were not paid for many months almost two years. There were only seven of them left in their company for they have better positions. Three of them Pinoys from Zamboanga city, their engineer in the company. My brother is in charge of the payroll. Though no work but they still log required by their court and part of the computations . They only lack two court hearings.
